Towards the end of the Course Programme, students of SCSC 06 conducted indoor exercise “INTSINZI” which is designed as a one player exercise, where all students take part either as staff within a Combined Joint Task Force Headquarters (CJTFHQ) or as part of a Component Headquarters (CHQ).
The Exercise INTSINZI is set at the operational level and the scenario is an intervention operation, expeditionary in nature, which presents a realistic backdrop to deliver the challenges faced by a CJTFHQ and Component Commanders and their staff.
The aim of the exercise was to assess students in the planning and conduct of a joint and multinational campaign in the context of an intervention operation.
The main objectives of the exercise include to enhance students’ understanding of operational art, for them to be able to: apply the manoeuvrist approach within a joint and combined environment; undertake campaign planning through the application of the Campaign Planning Concepts (CPC) and the Joint Estimate to enhance student understanding of operational art; produce a campaign plan together with its related key supporting staff work; produce and deliver joint operation orders verbally and in writing; and conduct concurrent contingency planning during an operation.
