Command Post Exercise 1 (CPX1) for Junior Command and Staff Course (JCSC) 12 conducted from 25 to 30 January 2019

Students of JCSC 12 conducted Command Post Exercise 1 (CPX1) nicknamed HOT IRON. It was a 5 days tutorial exercise conducted from 25 to 30 January 2019, where students were practiced as Bde and Bn Commanders as well as Staff Officers in the respective Formations and Units. This exercise aimed to practice students of JCSC 12 on command, operation staff work and staff functions in a Bde and Bn Command Post.

It is a tutorial exercise but students were assessed on Operational Staff work in a Command Post (CP) at Bde and Bn HQ levels.

At the end of exercise, the students were able to demonstrate a working knowledge to perfectly practice the following: Establish of Command Post to include: setting up of a Command Post, Organization of a Command Post and Presentation of sand model. Estimate and issue of Operation Orders, Admin Orders to include Log Plan, Issue of Comms Instrs, Fire Plan, and Manning of CP to include: Map marking, Voice Procedure, Logging and action on messages, Message Writing, Issue of instant briefs as well as Operational returns, states and requests.
